The visual arts residency VA Initiator returns for its 3rd iteration: “Mystery 19 Visual Arts Initiator III – But Don’t Tell Anyone”. From May 12th to 20th five selected artists will immerse themselves in the city, culture and history of Eleusis under the guidance of Joanna Warsza. The artistic exchange will close with an exhibition in October.

The five visual artists who will participate in the artist-in-residence programme are Esmeralda Momferratou (GR), Flavia Stagi (IT), Vlad-Lucian Brăteanu (RO), Athina Koumparouli (GR) and Alexander Wolframm (DE). During their time in Elefsina, the artists-in-residency will be inspired by the Elefsinian mysteries and learn from five experienced visual artists, who will present some of their well-known works in Elefsina during this time.

The curator of this year’s VA Initiator residency programme is Joanna Warsza. She has a keen focus on site-specific projects and interdisciplinary collaborations, and has curated
numerous exhibitions and events worldwide. Joanna’s expertise lies in fostering dialogue between artists, spaces, and audiences, creating transformative artistic experiences.
