#ABOUT
For this second edition of the program, the focus is on the concept of Initiation as Methodology. In the 26 days of their stay, the selected artists are invited to experiment and conceive a site responsive project in the city of Elefsina, under the guidance and supervision of Delta Pi’s collaborators: Yellow Brick, EIGHT and SNEHTA Residency.
Delta Pi has invited the following six international visual artists to take part in the program in the city of Elefsina: Timothy Laskaratos, Aimilia Liontou, Eleni Mylona, Maria Nikiforaki, Pegy Zali & Kamila Szejnoch.
The realization of their artistic projects will emphasize the relations that are shaped among the city, its citizens and the artists. The participants will embark on this project in an attempt to track the 'deep' past, in order to discover parallel conditions and new entry points for the present and near future.
The works that will be created under the supervision of the mentor institutions will result from a creative process based in the experiential relationship of the participants with the city and its inhabitants. The works will exclusively be presented in Elefsina.
The city’s places, stories, events and actions will transform the obvious into an artistic or aesthetic event, and will be part of a material and intangible legacy of the Cultural Capital.
