DESCRIPTION

Once again, Peiraios 260 will be occupied by the forces of dancing! Following last year’s successful endeavour, the Dance Day project returns this year. Alternative forms of presentation, collective activities, dance experiences and artistic experiments jointly shape a meeting point, a hub where artists and audiences can exchange and share things. 

SCHEDULE & PARTICIPANTS

 

11:00-12:30  |  Dancing Dragons

With Ioanna Toumpakari, dancer-choreographer and kung fu trainer

Contemporary dance and kung fu lesson for children aged 6-12. Children are made familiar with the basic concepts of contemporary dance while also getting to know kung fu. 
Participants are required to sign up in advance at seminars@greekfestival.gr
Children must submit a certificate of participation, signed by their guardians, on the workshop day. Participants without signed certificates will not be admitted.
Children must be escorted by adults in the workshop (mandatory).

 

13:00-15:30  |  Infinite Potentials: Choreographic Traces

Open workshop. Concept & Coordination: Elena Novakovic & Rodia Vomvolou, dramaturgs and dance & performance researchers

Choreographers, dance theorists, dramaturgs, curators and spectators chart a map of choreographic practices. Guests: Maria Gorgia, choreographer, Iris Karayan, choreographer, Androniki Marathaki, choreographer, Dimitris Mytilinaios & Nefeli Asteriou, choreographers, dancers, Betina Panagiotara, dance theorist, journalist, dramaturg, Tasos Koukoutas, dance critic, dramaturg, Steriani Tsintziloni, dance theorist, Athens & Epidaurus Festival dance curator. 

 

17:00-18:30  |  African dance for people with and without disabilities to the beats of live percussion

With Stella Spyrou, dancer-choreographer, capoeira and African-Brazilian dance teacher
